Understand the history of Auschwitz-Birkenau

If you ever travel to Małopolska in Poland, you need to certainly visit Auschwitz-Birkenau - a tranquil village turned into the Nazi death camping in 1940. This remains as a frightening symbol of Holocaust - one of the biggest tragedies in human history. Approximately about 1, five m people were wiped out there during the Globe War II -- mostly Jews, Poles, Gypsies and Russians.

When visiting Auschwitz, you can see almost all the initial buildings and installs as they were within 1940 (prisoners' barracks, gas chambers as well as crematories, among others).

The camp includes three parts: Auschwitz I - the actual administration centre, Auschwitz II (Birkenau) -- mostly gas chambers and crematories, Auschwitz III - the actual labour camp.

Going to Auschwitz is a great opportunity to learn some essential history, which gives an essential warning for upcoming generations (the exposition is full of various info boards, which explain methods used by the actual Nazis). The trip begins with a brief, 15 minute film about the liberation from the camp by the Red-colored Army.
